Sheriff’s Office: Hobo Day weekend arrest total same as last year

According to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Department, the number of people booked into the jail over Hobo Day weekend was exactly the same as last year.

There were 46 people booked at the jail from Thursday evening through Sunday at Noon. The same time frame was used last year.

There were some differences. DUI charges dropped from 18 to 14. Misdemeanor drug charges increased from 10 to 18 and felony drug charges went up by five to a total of 10.

Underage possession and open container charges increased from 18 to 31.

There was one arrest this year for possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated.
