Sioux Falls man accused of stabbing three people

A Sioux Falls man is facing attempted murder charges after attacking three people with a knife. None of the victim’s injuries were life-threatening.

Thirty-one-year-old Michael Pettigrew is charged with three counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the suspect apparently chose his victims at random.

A 28-year-old woman walking along a street was stabbed more than 10-times. Later, a 58-year-old man was attacked at a gas station and a 26-year-old bystander who tried to help was also attacked. Both had cuts on their throats.

Witnesses and victims gave police a description of the suspect and his license plate number.

Officers discovered the suspect also stole the vehicle he was driving after finding it parked with keys inside.
