Teen killed in Codington County crash

A 16-year-old male died Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash south of Florence in Codington County.

The name has not been released pending notification of family.

According to the highway patrol, the car the teen was driving was westbound on a rural road when it crossed the center line, went into the ditch, and rolled. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
