Two people killed in traffic crash near Salem

Two people died late Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash west of Salem in McCook County.
Names have not been released pending notification of family.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a pickup was westbound on SD Hwy 38 and collided with an eastbound car that was in the wrong lane.
The drivers of both vehicles were not wearing seatbelts and both sustained fatal injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
