Unemployment claims down in South Dakota

South Dakota unemployment claims drop slightly.

During the week of Dec. 6-12, a total of 858 initial weekly claims for state unemployment benefits were processed by the Department of Labor and Regulation. This is a decrease of 46 claims from the prior week’s total of 904.

The latest number of continued state claims is 3,793 for the week ending December 5, a decrease of 131 from the prior week’s total of 3,924. This is the number of unemployed workers eligible for and receiving benefits after their initial claim.
