Volga man injured, charged in Brookings motorcycle accident

A Volga man is injured in a Monday evening single-vehicle motorcycle accident.

According to Assistant Chief Derrick Powers, a motorcycle driven by 60-year-old Daryl Purucker was leaving a private drive onto Sunrise Ridge Road when it hit a patch of dirt and crashed.

Purucker was taken to the emergency room for treatment and was then taken by police to the detention center.

He was charged with driving under the influence and possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated.
