10 COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday; active cases continue their downward trend

Ten COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday. The statewide total is now 2687.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 112 to 968. There were 16 new cases reported Friday, raising the total to 7931. Recovered cases are at 6919. There have been 44 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 1951 to 25,052. Total cases increase by 569 to 230,240 There are 202,501 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by 10 to 354.

Seventy percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-seven percent have completed a vaccine series and 30-percent have received a booster.
