Twelve COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday in the Department of Health weekly update — The statewide total is now 3014. One of the deaths was reproted in Brookings County.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by eight to 28. Forty-three new cases reported since September 7th, the total is 8,795. Recovered cases are at 8,751. There have been 59 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 109 to 753. It’s the first increase in active cases since August 3rd. Total cases increase by 1173 in the last week to 259,683. There are 255,916 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations fall by 14 to 85.

Seventy-five percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Sixty-one percent have completed a vaccine series and 34-percent have received a booster.
