Brookings Sheriff’s Dept. looking for suspects in Volga business theft

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of numerous items from a business in Volga.

It was reproted shortly after 2:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the business on the 200 block of U.S. Highway 14.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says a man and woman entered the store and began putting items under their shirts, in a handbag and down the male’s pants. It’s also suspected, the man used an aerosol can to become intoxicated.

When questioned by the store manager, the two quickly left the business and headed east on Highway 14 in a gold Kia Rio. The vehicle was later found to have been reported stolen from Parker, South Dakota.

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individuals in the photos.
