Decision from PUC on the Navigator pipeline set for Sept. 6th meeting

Testimony concluded Tuesday evening in the Public Utilities Commission permitting hearing for the Navigator pipeline.

The line would run to three ethanol plants in Eastern South Dakota, including the Valero plant at Aurora.

The PUC needs to make a decision on the permit by the end of the September. Their plan is to make a decision at their September sixth meeting.

The commission must also consider the question of whether it should supersede pipeline zoning ordinances recently passed in Minnehaha and Moody Counties. Navigator officials say their project can’t happen if the ordinances stay in place. The P-U-C has set aside August 24-25 to decide the matter.
