The Brookings Fire Department will be commemorating the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 on Friday, September 11, 2026 with the following events:
5:45 am – 110 story stair climb at SDSU Stadium, hosted by Brookings Police Department
10:00 – 9/11 speakers sponsored by SDSU at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on the SDSU Campus
1:30 pm – Brookings Fire Department Members speaking to students at Mickelson Middle School
2:30 pm – Brookings Fire Department Members speaking to students at Camelot Intermediate School
6:30 pm – Brookings Fire Department members meeting at the East Fire Station and walking to the war memorial to read names of the 343 fallen FDNY members from 9/11
