Four COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday. The statewide total is 2875.
Active cases in Brookings County decrease by one to 83. Two new cases reported Thursday, the total is 8089. Recovered cases are at 7955. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.
Statewide, active cases decrease by 38 to 2597. Total cases increase by 49 to 236,845. There are 231,373 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by five to 70.
Seventy-two percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-nine percent have completed a vaccine series and 33-percent have received a booster.
The Department of Health says, because of the low incidence of new cases, this will be the final daily report. Weekly reports will be issued on Wednesday, starting on the 23rd.
