Four COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday; active cases continue to fall

Four COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The statewide total is now 2691.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 95 to 873. There were 10 new cases reported Monday, raising the total to 7941. Recovered cases are at 7024. There have been 44 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 1947 to 23,105. Total cases increase by 594 to 230,834 There are 205,038 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 14 to 340.

Seventy percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-seven percent have completed a vaccine series and 30-percent have received a booster.
