Man killed in Sunday motorcycle crash near White was from Pipestone, MN
The man killed in a Sunday evening collision between two motorcycles near White has been identified as 29-year-old Blake Edwin Olsen of Pipestone, MN.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, it happened shortly after 9:00 o’clock as the motorcycles were heading south on 486th avenue. The lead bike, driven by 32-year-old Taylor James Shellum of Trent, lost control going around a curve near 204th Street. The motorcycle driven by Olsen rear-ended Shellum’s bike. Both cycles came to rest in the ditch.
Olsen was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Shellum was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Neither driver was wearing a helmet and alcohol use is under investigation.
