NEWELL, S.D. – One man died early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash bout 30-miles east of Newell.

It happened shortly before 8:00 a.m on Highway 212.

The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family. He was the only person involved.

A pickup was eastbound on U.S. Highway 12, lost control and went across the highway and into the north ditch. The vehicle rolled and the driver was thrown from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
