Mitchell School district voters approve $17 million bond
Mitchell School District voters Tuesday approved a $17-million dollar bond issue to pay for new athletic facilities.
It passed 82-18 percent, easily exceeding the 60-percent approval required for passage.
A new $45-million dollar High School is already under construction but a variety of issues including inflation forced the district to ask voters for the additional $17-million dollars for athletic facilities.
The final tally was 2,888 yes and 634 no.
The current high school was built in 1962.
