New South Dakota State Veterinarian to start in May

South Dakota’s nex State Veterinarian will be Dr. Beth Thompson, currently the Minnesota Board of Animal Health Executive Director. She has announced here resignation from that position effective May 8.

Thompson has accepted the state veterinarian position for South Dakota, her home state. Thompson says she made the move to be closer to family and friends.

The State Veterinarian position in South Dakota has been vacant since January, when Dr. Dustin Oedekoven announced he was leaving the position to accept a job with the National Pork Board.
