BROOKINGS COUNTY (10-20-26) — A semi-truck is destroyed in a fire.
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office said it was reported yesterday (Monday, October 19) shortly after 9 p.m. in a corn field along 218th Street near Highway 13.
The Elkton Fire Department was able to extinguish the truck fire before the blaze spread to the corn field. The sheriff’s office says the driver escaped without injury, but the semi — a 1994 Peterbilt Conventional 378 — is a total loss.
