BROOKINGS (10-30-26) — Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and Brookings was visited by the Governor Larry Rhoden, Senator Mike Rounds, and Attorney General Marty Jackley last night.
Rhoden said he’s worked hard to earn the trust of voters… “Well, I’m a known commodity. I had two sessions to demonstrate my leadership skills. You know, I said two years ago my pillars would be integrity, openness and civility — and I followed through on that, and it delivered some pretty significant results in the last two sessions. And so I will plan to continue to stay true to those values.”
Rounds said he wants to build a better future for young people in South Dakota… “South Dakota State University does a great job of graduating Jackrabbits with a really quality education. We want them to stay here. My job in Washington is to make darn sure that South Dakota has an opportunity to benefit from investment at the federal level, but also so that these young people can stay here with a quality of life like never before. Whether you’re talking water development, whether you’re talking rural telecommunications, whether you’re talking research facilities — those are all things that are important to me, and they’re really important to the people right here in the Brookings area.”
Jackley — who is running for Congress right now — said he’ll carry South Dakota values to Washington… “South Dakotans have seen me as their Attorney General work for them, fight for them. South Dakotans know how much I care about South Dakota. They know I stand for limited government, protecting taxpayers and fighting corruption. They can trust me and they know I’ll never forget where I come from.”
All three are Republicans and have been touring the state together this week.
Early/absentee voting is still underway. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
