Nine COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday. The statewide total is now 2706. One of those deaths was reported in Brookings County.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 151 to 646. There were 29 new cases reported Wednesday, raising the total to 7982. Recovered cases are at 7291. There have been 45 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 3241 to 17,583. Total cases increase by 670 to 231,379. There are 211,757 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations hold at 312.

Seventy percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-seven percent have completed a vaccine series and 31-percent have received a booster.
