Noem signs $200 million housing infrastructure bill

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has signed SB 41, the housing infrastructure bill.

Due to the bill’s emergency clause, the $200 million in funding is available immediately, meaning it could be available for this year’s construction season.

A similar bill passed last year. Technical issues prevented the money going out. SB 41 fixes those technical issues.

The money can be used to help build infrastructure for new housing developments.

The measure easily and quickly passed through both chambers of the legislature.
