The weekly COVID-19 update from the South Dakota Department of Health includes one new death, raising the total to 2051.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 23 and are now at 58. There have been 35 new cases reported in the last week, bringing the total to 4316. Recovered cases are at 4221. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category

Statewide, active cases increase by 492 to 1149. Total cases are up by 733 in the last week to 126,454. There are 123,254 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by 36 to 75.

Sixty percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
