SD Highway Patrol: hazardous conditions for semi-trucks

Numerous semi-trucks tipped over in high winds in South Dakota Thursday.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says troopers responded to more than 10 accidents involving semi-trucks that tipped over on South Dakota highways.

Winds were gusting up to 70 miles per hour in western and central South Dakota Thursday and they will persist through Friday morning. Wind gusts to 60 miles per hour are being reported in eastern South Dakota Thursday afternoon and they will persist through Friday afternoon, creating hazardous driving for trucks and other high profile vehicles.

Add in snow and ice in large parts of South Dakota today and it becomes even more hazardous for high-profile vehicles.
