South Dakota State University will formally name the Architecture, Mathematics and Engineering Building as Chicoine Architecture, Mathematics and Engineering Hall.

It will become official at a Saturday morning event.

The naming event recognizes President Emeritus David Chicoine’s efforts bringing the university an architecture degree program and the naming of the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering.

The 62,000-square foot building has three floors with architecture on the third floor, mathematics and statistics on the second and mechanical engineering, construction and operations management and shared lab space on the first floor.

The event is set for 11:00 am Saturday in the lobby of the building.
