Statewide active COVID-19 cases fall to 537; Brookings County now in “low” community spread
Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday in the South Dakota Department of Health weekly update. The statewide total is 2883.
Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 64 to 15. Two new cases reported since the 23rd, the total is 8093. Recovered cases are at 8027. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is now in the “low” community spread category.
Statewide, active cases fall by 1889 to 537. Total cases increase by 154 in the last week to 237,109. There are 233,689 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 21 to 43.
Seventy-two percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-nine percent have completed a vaccine series and 33-percent have received a booster.
