Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday; active cases dip below 1300

Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday, the total is now 1980.

Active cases in Brookings County drop by 10 and are at 59. Total cases increase by 2 to 4205. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 4109 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 154. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 58 to 1251. Total cases increase by 78 to 123,233. There are 120,002 recovered cases. Current Hospitalizations decrease by 13 to 77.

Fifty-five percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 612,495 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 333,447 people. A total of 23,564 doses have been given in Brookings County to 13,535 people.
