Two COVID-19 deaths reported Monday in South Dakota; active cases fall

Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The total is now 2220.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 5 to 115. Four new cases reported, raising the total to 5087. Recovered cases are at 4934. There have been 38 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 35 to 5625. Total cases are up by 295 to 152,603. There are 144,758 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 24 to 179.

Sixty-seven percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
