Two people injured in Highway 14 accident west of Volga

Two people are injured in a Sunday morning accident at Highway 14 and 457th Avenue, west of Volga.

Brookings County Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says a pickup driven by 35-year-old Heather Runia of Brookings was headed north on 457th and failed to stop for the stop sign. The pickup collided with an SUV driven by 27-year-old Eli Hudgens of White.

Both vehicles ended up in the north ditch. Runia was treated and released at the scene by Arlington Ambulance. A passenger in the SUV, 52-year-old John Hudgens of White, was transported to the Brookings Hospital with unknown injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
