Unemployment claims go up in South Dakota

Unemployment claims rose last week in South Dakota.

During the week of Nov. 29 through Dec. 5, a total of 818 initial weekly claims for state unemployment benefits were processed by the Department of Labor and Regulation. That’s up 382 claims from the prior week.

Continued state claims are 3,847 for the week ending Nov. 28, an increase of 832 from the prior week’s total of 3,015. This is the number of unemployed workers eligible for and receiving benefits after their initial claim.
