Wayne Avery, Holly Tilton-Byrne file for Brookings City Council election

Two current members have filed for Brookings City Council. Wayne Avery is seeking the two-year council seat. Avery was appointed to fill the remainder of Ope Niemeyer’s term after he was elected Mayor. Holly Tilton-Byrne has filed to seek reelection to a three-year term.

Bonny Specker earlier filed for a three-year term.  There are two three-year terms, a two-year-term and a one-year term all up for grabs.

Teresa Binkley has filed for one of the two school board seats up this year.

February 25th is the deadline for school board and council candidates to file.
