Woman charged with murder in Pierre death

A 38-year-old Pierre woman is charged with 2nd Degree Murder in the death of a man found after disturbance at a Pierre Motel.

Crystal Pumpkinseed had a court appearance via teleconference Thursday.

The name of the 49-year-old male victim has not been released. He was found after a disturbance early Wednesday morning at the Pierre Inn & Suites.

Pumpkinseed is being held without bond. Arraignment has been set for March 22.
Second degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison.

The case is still under investigation.
